How We Use Your Information
Data Usage Purposes
- Display your glucose trends and analytics within the app
- Display additional metrics such as weight, blood pressure, insulin, medications, carbohydrates, and related health context
- Calculate estimated HbA1c, time-in-range, and trend statistics
- Provide personalized insights about your health patterns

- Show selected recent data in Apple Watch, widgets, and complications
- Scan meter and scale displays with the iPhone camera to reduce manual entry
- Generate PDF and CSV reports for your healthcare providers

- Improve product reliability and subscription flows using non-health analytics events
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage First
Your health records are stored locally on your device by default. We do not operate a server that stores your glucose readings, scanned values, notes, stress levels, or personal health records.
Security Measures
- iOS data protection: Local data is protected by iOS device security and app sandboxing
- Secure Keychain: Sensitive settings stored in iOS Keychain with hardware security
- No developer-operated cloud sync: Your health records are not uploaded to our servers. Data leaves your device only when you export it, share it, or enable Apple Health/Apple platform features.
- Apple Health integration: Secure, permission-based sync with Apple's Health app
- Camera privacy: Scanner image processing happens for value recognition. Raw scanner photos or frames are not uploaded to our servers.
- Analytics limits: Product analytics do not include raw glucose values, raw weight values, blood pressure numbers, personal notes, scanner photos, or other raw health readings.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
What We DON'T Do
- We do not sell your health data to anyone
- We do not share your data with advertisers
- We do not use your data for marketing purposes
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
- We do not upload raw scanner photos or camera frames to our servers
- We do not store your personal health records on external servers
Product Analytics and Attribution
The app may use privacy-conscious product analytics and Apple attribution frameworks to understand app reliability, onboarding completion, feature usage, subscription conversion, and scanner flow quality. These events are designed to avoid raw health data. For example, scanner analytics can record whether scanning succeeded, but not the scanned reading itself.
Apple Health Integration
With your explicit permission, Glucose and Blood Sugar Track can sync supported data types with Apple Health, including glucose, weight, blood pressure, insulin, carbohydrates, temperature, oxygen, and related supported metrics. This integration follows Apple's strict privacy guidelines and allows you to:
- Automatically import supported readings from Apple Health and compatible apps
- Share your data with other health apps you trust
- Include your tracked data in Apple Health's comprehensive health picture
Camera Scanner
When you use the camera display scanner, the app uses the iPhone camera to recognize numbers on supported glucose meter and weight scale displays. You must confirm the detected value before it is saved. Camera access can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Watch, Widgets, and Complications
Apple Watch, Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and watch face complications use shared on-device data through Apple's App Group and WidgetKit mechanisms. This allows recent readings, time-in-range summaries, and medication reminders to appear outside the main app without creating an account or uploading your health records to our servers.
Your Privacy Rights
Full Control Over Your Data
Access & Export
Export all your data anytime through the app's built-in CSV and PDF export features.
Delete Data
Delete individual readings or all data directly in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Control Permissions
Manage Apple Health, camera, notifications, Apple Watch, and widget permissions in iOS Settings.
Data Portability
Your data exports are in standard formats (CSV, PDF) compatible with other health apps.
Children's Privacy
Glucose and Blood Sugar Track is designed for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International Users
Glucose and Blood Sugar Track complies with applicable privacy laws including GDPR (European Union), CCPA (California), and other regional privacy regulations. Since personal health records are stored locally on your device by default, health-record transfer risks are minimized.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify users of significant changes through the app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
